Casale dello Sparviero

Terroir and Vineyard

The Chianti region is known for its hills covered with vineyards and olive trees. The vineyards surrounding the farmhouse stretch across Siena’s hills are the heart of our wine production. The cultivated area covers 90 hectares, at an average altitude of 250 meters, a terroir that can be perceived from the very first sip.

The oldest vineyard is Paronza whose traces date back to 1169. Our Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Paronza comes from here.

The main grape variety is Sangiovese, which covers about 90% of the cultivated area.

On the ridge of Campoperi, we also cultivate Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Vermentino, Malvasia and other international varieties.
